Even thought this tutorials is well known by some Symbian Gurus but its also became an order of the day for some Symbian users. Here is an easy tutorials on how to Restore your phone.
We have two types of Restoring phone.
1• Soft Restore Factory setting.
2• Hard Restore Factory Setting.
Soft Restore Factory Setting
This type of Restore it can only restore your phone to Origianal setting and it will not deleted all your data.
HOW TO DO IT? (Soft restore Factory setting)
Just dial *#7780# (It will ask you for security code then enter the code of your phone. Default Code for Nokia is 12345). Your device will restart
and reset.
HARD RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS
This type of Restore is the same as flash and it will also deleted all your data, contact, images, Videos, Messeges, Applications etc that you stored on Your Phone Memory device. So before to do that kind of Restoring make sure you Moved all your contact to simcard and Your data to External memory card (SD CARD).
HOW TO DO IT?
Just dial *#7370# it will also ask Your Security code. Just enter the code of your phone. The default is 12345 but if you changed so enter your present Security code.. Your device will restart and reset.
THIS TWEAK IS WORK IN ALL TYPES OF SYMBIAN PHONE
• Another way on how to hard reset your phone. Just follow the below instruction..
Swich your phone off first. After you switch off your phone then hold down the green call key, the number 3 key and the * key then continue to hold the keys and now hold the power key, hold all 4 keys until the device (Phone) boots up and asks for the country.
FOR NOKIA 5800
If your own is Nokia 5800 XM then the second option is: 2-b). hold the green and red call keys,
the camera capture key and then the power key, hold them until the device boots up and asks for country etc. 5800XM
FOR N97 USERS
If you own is Nokia N97 then the second option is: 2-c). Hold the left shift key, the space bar and the back key then the power key, hold them until the device asks for the country etc.
FOR NOKIA N8-00
•If you own is Nokia N8-00 then the second option is: 2-d). Hold the Menu Key, the Camera and the Volume Down Button then the power key, hold them until the device asks for the country etc. Nokia N8-00 If your device fails to boot up or gives a contact the retailer message then a hard
format on boot will usualy sort the problem.
WARNING*** doing a hard reset will DELETE all user data on the device
memory, including contacts, calendar
entries and any apps etc you have installed to C: drive, your mass memory/memory card will remain un affected so any data will still be there, however you
may have to reinstall some apps even if they are installed to mass mem/mem card.
